Welcome to The Free Energy Developer's Forum.

This forum has been set up for the discussion of Free Energy Devices primarily foucsed on easily reproducable devices. I would like this forum to be a useful starting point for anyone beginning their projects so that the subject of free energy may be more commonly understood and recognised with easily reproducable projects and experiments.

I set up this forum primarily to post the answers to commonly asked questions. I'm afraid I don't have much time to participate in discussions but feel free to join www.energeticforums.com if you need more help.

Wire size for coils

Postby karlproseck on Fri Oct 24, 2008 4:38 pm

ok, so introvertebrate says to use 22 awg and 26 awg.
has anyone carried out a systematic study of how the different coil sizes affect performance.

i ask because i've got some 22 and 28 gauge wire. i want to make a coil but i would like one that is going to work. i think im going to make it and test it then build a second coil of 26g and test that as well

If any one knows what could expect if i used the 28 instead of getting some 26g could you please post some knowledge
alternatively if there is a thread i havn't gotten to could some one direct me to it.

Thank you Karl

Your coil will be one of two things.

Put power in it’s an electro magnet or pass a magnet over the coil it will produce power.

The thicker the wire the more power the coil can handle in both respects.

The coil will also heat up as current goes through it so you need to make sure the wire is thick enough as your coil will meltdown if it gets to hot.

I’m going for 0.50mm/25swg/24awg and 1.06mm/19swg/18awg

Using 28 instead of 26 there shouldn’t be much in it

Good luck

I ever read from yahoogroups, that saying the size should not far different (the trigger more than half of power coil diameter) example 1.0 mm and 0.6mm.

Bedini suggest in the basic setup 26 awg for trigger coil and 23 awg for power coil.

I'm very sure this will related to the COP result too.

My setup using 0.75mm and 0.5mm, the best COP in small setup only 0.9

about my wire sizes

Postby rgbargee on Mon Nov 17, 2008 9:18 pm

just a note on some of the difficulties i have come across and am slowly working around

i started with 24 and 30 wire sizes but i kept shorting the coils when winding (you can probably guess i am a bit ham fisted)

i changed to 18 and 22 but only 150 turns and that didnt run

i rewound to 18 and 22 400+ turns and got it running but destroyed the 1/4 watt resistor every time. worked that out using a 2watt resistor but it wont run at anything less than 24v input . Well it runs but doesnt sustain at 12v (eventually slows and stops within ten minutes. Also the optimum for this coil turned out to be about 450 mA which is useless really , but is kinda matched buy the 400 mA output . I think if i was to use 18 and 20 for anything more than a model 800 plus turns would be needed and id have to beef up the diodes too They get hot and use high A/h batteries drill batteries at 24 v and 450 mA (1.3 Ah) dont last very long at all. You can see it running on my You tube under rgbargeee at 12v into a 6v battery (cant believe someone already had my nick lol)

AWG or SWG

Postby Firetank on Mon Jan 12, 2009 10:27 am

Hi all,

Good posts and I am more puzzled hehe.... I have not build it yet as i am waiting for some coil wire which i ordered on the net. My first problem which is worrying me is that i have ordered some coil wire 26 AWG and 22 AWG and in some post i read that it should be SWG not AWG :? . So here i am a bit confused about it. Still waiting for the wire to arrive and see what happens.

If someone out there can help me about this it will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Coil size

Postby selamatg on Mon Jan 12, 2009 6:00 pm

Hi... :)

You can go with your coil size ordered...just little advice....... if you can twist your coil will perform better and try 850 turn and up if can.

In my previous setup show better performance by doing that.

Cheers & Good luck

Thanks for your reply and advice I will try to do between 850 to 1000 turns if possible and permits. I am using neo magnets and to my beleive ar a bit strong but will see whats going to happen... have to wait for the coil wire.

Thanks again
